Post-alpha release remarks

I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support of our project. It's with a mix of appreciation and relief that I address you today to shed light on why it took us four months to compile the alpha version of our game, originally promised for February, and deliver it only at the end of April.

The truth is, that the journey of game development has been incredibly challenging. Over the past four months, we encountered a series of unforeseen tasks that significantly delayed the completion of the alpha version. From technical issues to schedule challenges, each day seemed to bring a new complication.

One of the major hurdles we faced was merging the Teaser version with the new content from the Alpha. This required extensive code review and multiple rounds of testing to ensure the game was functioning properly across all platforms. My code style and practices changed drastically in 4 years, and almost every line of "first-year-newbie-me-from-years-ago" code I had to correct to accommodate the new sections of the game caused unpredictable side effects in another part of the code. It quickly became a long chain of "fix one thing, break another" that lasted almost the entirety of this three-month sprint. The good news is I took care of so many bugs that I didn’t find anything more even when I tried to “break the game” by playing it randomly.

Additionally, we encountered difficulties related to our schedule and accurately estimating the remaining number of tasks. Despite our best efforts to plan and organize, unforeseen complexities arose, causing a series of delays in our timeline. Some tasks looked pretty simple to achieve, and when we put our hands on it, the damn thing exploded into dozens of sub-tasks that took forever to complete! So a list of things I estimated could be completed in a few hours, stretched to an entire week! Hell, some took me an entire month of unexpected extra work. We are still learning valuable lessons from this experience and are implementing strategies to improve our project management moving forward.

However, despite all the setbacks, I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished so far. The alpha version of the game is finally launched, and I'm excited to share it with you all. While it took longer than expected, I sincerely believe that the result is pretty good. We are receiving lots of praise and good energy to keep working on this game, and I appreciate that. 😄

I want to thank each one of you for your patience and continued support of the project. I know this delay has been frustrating for many of you, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. Please know that I'm committed to delivering the best possible game, and I'll do everything in my power to ensure that happens. I know there's still a long road ahead, but with your help and support, I'm confident we'll reach our goals together.

Thank you again for believing in this project and for your incredible patience. I can't wait to share more updates and exciting news with you soon!
